Wise

Eternity Wise

Eternity – existence for time with no end! That’s a long time. Clearly far beyond our physical life.

There are many opinions on this…even many who would say it doesn’t exist. If it doesn’t exist, then there is no need for eternal wisdom. But if it does exist, then we should each seriously consider the ramifications.

I’ve thought about adding a lot of links and information here, but it occurs to me that clarity is more important than tomes of knowledge. So, a few pointed quotes, a few thought provoking posts, and a few engaging books.

A few Bible verses to consider:

The beginning of wisdom is to fear the Lord, and acknowledging the Holy One is understanding.

Having heard everything, I have reached this conclusion: Fear God and keep his commandments, because this is the whole duty of man. For God will evaluate every deed, including every secret thing, whether good or evil.

• Take a 21 day challenge – Read one chapter from the Gospel of John for each of the next 21 days. Pray each day before reading. Your prayer might go something like this “God, I don’t believe you exist. I don’t even know why I agreed to read this book. But, if you are real, help me to understand what I read.” Then, as you read each chapter, ask yourself “Who does Jesus claim to be. And if what he claims were to be true, what would it mean for my life?”
